A few weeks ago, my husband and I attended the 3 Course Feast, a charity function hosted by United Cerebral Palsy of the Mid-South. This event was an amazing opportunity to sample cuisine from many top restaurants in Memphis (and totally worth the $65/person price tag :P) There were 3 categories: Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert. Renowned Memphis chefs from some of the city's most acclaimed restaurants set up booths devoted to one or more of these categories. Attendees then sampled all of the food and marked their favorites in each area on ballots that were collected and counted at the end of the event.
In addition to the tastings, there were also several different cooking demonstrations, free wine, beer, mixed drinks, and an incredible silent auction with several amazing items up for grabs (free stays at several different hotels throughout the country, art, electronics, appliances, and gift certificates to several restaurants.
This event was so epic that I'm going to blog about it in a multi-part series. Stay tuned for my (and Tom's) take on all of the appetizers that were offered. You'll get our favorites, and I'll even let you in on which one the crowd picked as the best appetizer of the night.
